Freedom Quits (2000)  supported the creation of three unique narrative quilts. Each quilt told the story of a historically significant African American Church in Montgomery County. Mount Olive Baptist Church, Saint Peter’s AME Episcopal Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church were represented. Three noted Black artists from the Clarksville area – Ludie Amos, Howard Brown and Janice Page – worked with printer Amos Kennedy and the Goldsmith Rare Type Collection to incorporate textual narratives into each quilt. ‘Freedom Quilts’ was funded by The Tennessee Arts Commission.
