The Freedom Quilts
(2000)
sponsored the creation of three unique narrative quilts. Each quilt told the story of a culturally significant African American Church in Montgomery County, TN. Mount Olice Baptist Church, Saint Peter's AME Episcopal Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church were represented. Three noted Aftrican American artists from the Clarksville area used the Goldsmith Rare Type Collection to incorporate text into each quilt.
